The wandering Quanista

Quanista wandered for a couple of years and until just recently it was an uneventful, pleasant experience. She learned to trade, communicate with others and improved her hunting, martial arts and riding skills.

(Mark help me here with my flawed memory of what you told me the first game about the God that died)

The God of Travel and Roads likes to travel with the particular group that Quanista chose to travel with. One evening as everyone was around the campfire enjoying the fire and one another company an individual in blood red armor appeared out of thin air. The individual proceeded to lop the God of Travel and Roads' head off and disappeared just as suddenly as they appeared. To this day Quanista has no idea how this was accomplished.

Instantly the camp was in an uproar as the now dead God was a beloved member of the group. The men and fighting women began to take turns setting watches in the coming days but the same individual never showed up again.

Soon after Quanista breaks her ankle while out hunting and is convinced that it is best if she stays with the monks at Falling Jade. Seeing the wisdom in this she agrees to spend her time healing and helping the local community with whatever tasks she is asked to do.

Early Teens

The monks she was staying with noticed how much she missed her parents and thus her early teen years were spent in learning a great many things including the bow, basic martial arts and some history of Creation. Along with this she learned more about nature and the world around her. Frequently she would wander off on her own.

Every year there were numerous traveling groups and one year Quanista decided to join one and do some traveling. She packed things up and left a note for the monks and disappeared.

Quanista- Early Family Life

Quanista and her parents Gylynn and Tern lived just outside of Great Forks. Quanista, from early life was always a happy girl but a little different from her peers. Starting at about age 5 she knew this and wandered off into the woods frequently where she developed a love and respect of nature.

The first youthful jaunt of course, caused a great stir and a lecture about safety from her parents along with her father taking him with him on his trips woodcutting, hunting and other types of trips more often. She spent many hours listening to him talk about different plants and animals and their place in the life cycle and how to stay safe. After a while she was allowed to go off on her own. When her father went to town or to other cities she usually went with him for companionship and on those trips developed some relationships with various people at each place.

Her mother taught her to do the usual cooking and mending type chores during what passed for winter months in the area.

With this type of background Quanista grew up well adjusted and much happier as she loves to learn and read things.

Quanista's parents, unbeknownst to her, before her birth had been Guards of the Realm. Though technically retired at a very early age due to Glynn expecting Quanista they were eligible to be recalled to active duty as soon as the child turned 12.

It was one night just after Quanista turned 12 that her parents had a visitor and Quanista was give a very brief hug as she was dropped at the local monsetary and her parents disappeared into the night.
